Last year's event raised over $12,000 in one day for Trees for the Future. This was an amazing achievement for our grassroots, volunteer-led event, and was made possible by the incredible outpouring of support from the DC yoga community! All participants, volunteers, organizers and teachers contribute the same ticket price donation, as we come together to raise funds and awareness about the essential issues of our time. This year we will be raising money for a local conservation group as well.
TREES FOR THE FUTURE
Since 1988, Trees for the Future has helped thousands of communities in Central America, Africa, and Asia improve their livelihoods and their environment by planting nearly 50 million trees. We calculate that these trees remove approximately one million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere each year.
We are also active locally, educating students and communities about global issues, our role in the environment, and energy efficiency.

EARTH CONSERVATION CORPS
The Earth Conservation Corps is a nonprofit organization that engages the strong minds and muscles of Anacostia’s youth in the restoration of the Anacostia River. As corps members improve their own lives, they rebuild the environmental, social, and economic health of their communities.
